Forum:   GammOnLine Anyone know anything about GammonEmpire.com, the "biggest" backgammon club on the net? Douglas Zare  writes: I have played at GammonEmpire. It is a money backgammon server based on the model of poker servers. I'm not sure if it is the same as Play65.com, which appears to be quite similar. I have heard that they started up a couple of weeks ago, so it definitely isn't the largest on the net. I haven't tried to deposit or cash out yet. Their rake is quite high: From a money game win of $1, $0.08 is taken. From $100, $4 is taken. They don't use the Jacoby Rule in money play. A lot of people want to play for $1/point with a table limit of $2, sort of like a 2-point match. Of course, people don't double immediately. Very few players are playing for substantial stakes. You get $5 free for signing up. There are freerolls every 2 hours with a first prize of $10. There is a daily $2 tournament of 3-point matches with a $100 prize pool and a decent overlay. While there are some features we expect that are lacking, such as a match record, there are some features from poker sites I'm not used to seeing for backgammon, such as the ability to play multiple games at the same time. Another nice feature is that the site is filled with poker players, not backgammon players, since (I've heard) they advertised on a poker newsgroup.   Did you find the information in this article useful?           Do you have any comments you'd like to add?
