Another rules decision |

At Vegas in the Open section this weekend a Player who is well known and
highly skilled cubed his Opponent while trailing at Crawford. The Opponent
took and apparently neither of them noticed until 5 moves or so later. The
TD was asked by someone (not one of the players) afterwards what his
ruling would have been if he had been called to the board. There was a lot
of discussion about this situation among some players and the TD staff.
How would you rule? What should the rules say if you do not like what the
rules say or don't say regarding this?
By the way I am not clear what happened in the match and can't tell you
what the players in question did. In any case because there was no request
by the Opponent for a decision the TD's decision was not an actual ruling,
indeed he never even went to the board.

This is an easy one. The Crawford game is played as if there were no cube,
so the cube turn was not legal. This is a correctable error, and the game
continues from the current position with the cube out of play.

I agree, if the director was able to intervene before the next game began.
If the next game had already begun, I think you're stuck with the score
reflecting the cube-turn.
