From Backgammon for Blood, by Bruce Becker

White to play 6-2.

Assume he throws anything that has a 1 on one of the dice — 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 5-1, or 6-1. If you have two men on B1, then he will not be able to make the move for the die showing 1, and so he will bear off only one man, keeping his last two men protected. But if you have only one man on the B1 point, he will then have to bear off one man and hit you for the 1 move, thereby giving your blot two shots at him.
