Forum:   rec.games.backgammon Google:   63e9d4ef.0211141529.6cee6fe2@posting.google.com Some of my friends insist that I play with these two rules--which I have never seen played elsewhere in my limited experience. (1) When you hit a blot within your own inner board, you may not run that blot to safety (either onto another checker or bear it off). You may double hit if the checker remains exposed. And, of course, you may hit with a checker and cover that checker. (2) After the first game of a match or of money play, all subsequent games are started by the most recent victor. Thus, you can get doubles on your first roll. Here's are my questions: How widespread are these rules? I think these rules are common in Persia. Anywhere else? Most of the neighbours in their apartment building played by the same rules.
