Anyone familiar with the rules of tavli?

I have a question about match play. What happens in the rare case that a
plakoto game is drawn (both "mothers" captured)? A half-point each? No
points? Replay the plakoto game to a decision before proceeding to fevga?

Hi Brus! Did not expect people in here to play tavli! In the case you
described no points are given to the players and they proceed with the next
game which is usually fevga. I wrote "usually", as sometimes people (old
school of tavli) play with the following sequence: (1) fevga (similar to
multezim), (2) plakoto (tapa in bulgaria?), (3) portes (backgammon, no

This is because the "old school" of tavli players believe that this is the
sequence from the more technical, skillful game (fevga) to the less
technical (portes). The "old school" players are really experts in fevga
and plakoto but not that competitive in portes where their game lacks of

Rule 1: If both "mothers" are caught then it is a draw with no points and
the next game has to be played.

Rule 2: If player A catches the "mother" of player B, then there is a rule
stating that A wins a gammon if he manages to move all his checkers away
from his own "mother" point (24) because that way the previous scenario
cannot occur (B cannot capture A's mother as well). This rule was issued so
as to save time, and proceed with the next game, as it looks meaningless
for B to try to win the game or even to save the gammon (there are no
backgammons in tavli).
