"--" means there was no tournament that year, afaik.
"???" means if there was a tournament there the attendance figures aren't
handy.
Figures generally count people and don't include rebuys.
Tournaments change names and sponsors; it's a bit confusing. The names and
sponsors above should be current.
Left out: Irish Open, Finnish Open, German Open, Oslo Open and many other
European tournaments (mostly Danish and British) that may attract some
international players, but not many. Also left out: tournaments that have
died -- at least 35 tournaments have ceased in the last 10 years, including
ABT's Indiana and the Pro-Am doubles which have been replaced, I think, by
the "American Doubles" and the "World Doubles." Tournaments in Abu Dhabi,
Boston, Bucharest, Istanbul, Mallorca, Maryland, Moscow, New York, Prague
and Texas have come and gone. R.I.P.
