White to play 2-1.

Move one man from black twelve point to your eleven point, and one back man from black one to black two point. Our recommended play moves one man into your outer board with relative safety, and splits your two back men in the most effective manner, as we have discussed.

The slightly inferior play is to move from the black twelve to your eleven point and from your six to your five point. As we remarked under 4-1, the man on your five point is exposed to any 4, 3-1, double 2, or double 1; while a 6-4 enables your opponent to hit both your blots.
